Meet Sophia Sawaya: seven-year-old tennis extraordinaire from Los Angeles, California and Salt + Snow's very first kid #Wanderist!
Sophia started tennis when she was just three-and-a-half years old and has been devoted to the sport ever since. To Sophia, adventure means doing something she doesn’t do every day and getting butterflies in her tummy. We couldn't agree more! Read on to learn more about the tennis superstar herself.

Disneyland and Oklahoma. Disneyland because I like staying at the hotel with room service. Oklahoma as it is where I learn about my Cherokee heritage and to be with my family.
WHAT DOES ADVENTURE MEAN TO YOU?:
An adventure is something I don’t do every day. It’s doing something and getting butterflies in my tummy.
WHEN SEEKING ADVENTURE, WHAT’S THE FIRST THING YOU DO?:
Listen to my mommy or teacher. They help me.
THREE THINGS YOU CAN’T TRAVEL WITHOUT:
My tennis racket, my Mr. Monkey to sleep with, and snacks.
HOW YOU GOT STARTED PLAYING TENNIS:
When I was three-and-a-half years old, my mommy saw that I needed more time to learn about how to move and work my body so she started me in tennis to help me.
TIPS FOR ANYONE LOOKING TO START TENNIS:
Find friends that love the sport and find coaches that will help you.
FAVORITE SNACK TO FUEL WITH AND WHY:
Bananas because they have potassium, popsicles because they are cool and fun, and water which is my favorite drink.

My biggest motivator is to be kind. To play sports you have to be kind, especially when you have to call shots.
