Description:

Militaries of the late 19th century and early 20th century were closely tied to the nobility of those eras. Long a staple within the wardrobes of high ranking officers of public society, it is not surprising then that the classic Anorak silhouette was familiar to the royal families of the times and became one of the preferred garments for winter sport. As it is today and was then, popular culture followed the trends of Royal attire.

The Anorak with its refined simplicity of purpose and styling cut an elegant figure on the mountain, and when coupled with the streamlined pants of the times presented the first “must have” head-to-toe look of alpine sport fashion. Alps & Meters revisits this long-forgotten garment of skiing celebrity with the introduction of the Women’s Alpine Anorak.
