Three Easy Homemade Trail Mix Recipes

Trail mix is a tasty, protein-packed snack perfect for those on the go. And while there are many prepackaged options available at any grocery store, making your own at home can be easy and fun. Here are three easy recipes for making your own trail mix.

Very Berry Crunch

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup each: almonds, walnuts, sunflower seeds and your favorite dry cereal
  • ½ cup each: pumpkin seeds and dried strawberries
  • ¼ cup each: raisins and dried cranberries

Instructions:

  1. Mix the ingredients together in a large bowl
  2. Serve immediately, or store in an airtight container

Chocolate & Banana Trail Mix

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup each: walnuts, pecans, cashews, banana chips, toasted coconut flakes
  • ½ cup each: raisins and your favorite chocolate chips

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°
  2. Place the walnuts, pecans and cashews on a baking sheet toast between 6-8 minutes, or until lightly browned
  3. Remove from the oven and allow to cool
  4. Once the ingredients are cooled, add the banana chips and toasted coconut flakes to the tray and mix together
  5. Serve immediately, or store in an airtight container

Sweet-N-Salty

Ingredients:

  • 10 oz bag dark chocolate chips
  • 3 oz bag dried cherries
  • 7.2 oz bag baby cheddar goldfish crackers
  • 14 oz can cashew halves and pieces

Instructions:

  1. Mix the ingredients together in a large bowl
  2. Serve immediately, or store in an airtight container
