We now welcome Aztech Mountain to Salt + Snow!
Aztech Mountain is a performance sportswear company rooted in skiing. Founded in 2013 by David Roth and Heifara Rutgers with the vision to create contemporary and functional ski wear, Aztech Mountain is for those chasing alpine adventures. Their cutting-edge garments are made with premium materials to create an effortless fit and inspire adventure at any elevation.
In an exclusive interview, VP of Marketing Michael Shea takes us on a deep dive into the inspiration behind Aztech Mountain and what makes their products so unique.
What was the inspiration behind Aztech Mountain?
Aztech Mountain was founded in 2013 based on the idea that skiing is best done with your loved ones on a beautiful bluebird day while wearing the most exquisite product one could possibly find.
What makes Aztech Mountain ski wear unique?
Aztech Mountain uniquely considers not only performance and function but also a strong fashion lens that delivers a sharp point of view each season. The collection includes much more than just skiing. There are chic pieces that can be layered into your daily wardrobe as well as any and all performance adventures. Skiing should not only be about function, but also about having an individual striking appearance on the slopes!
What are some of your favorite Aztech Mountain products for the upcoming season?
For both men and women this year the fits are exceptional. On the men’s side the Ajax Jacket is a standout not just visually with large, striking color-blocked details but it is light as a feather, incredibly practical for a true skier and fits like a glove. On the women’s side the Off Piste Hoody is something that I am extremely proud of and it is a perfect example of what we do best: a product that is perfect for both on and off the mountain.
Do you have any tips to stay fashionable and functional during ski season?
Layer always. Combining our most technical outerwear with stylish mid-layers that are built for both on and off the mountain ensures you’ll stay warm and dry on the slopes and look great at lunch and après.
What is a must for you on a powder day?
A ski buddy who can keep up with you!
